One of these days I’ll get back on top of posting these along with other blog posts. Today is not that day!
As per usual, I started #FridayFavorites back when I started up the blog again and wanted to make sure I kept at least one regular post a week. This was, of course, before I knew there were others out there. But I decided to keep it, especially since I have the whole year planned out. In December, I decided to change it to #FridayFives instead to have more room for topics. If anyone wants to join me, the list for future topics can be found here.
In honor of the Hogwarts train leaving Platform 9 3/4 on Sept. 1st, I thought it’d be fun to list the top 5 things I need for the upcoming school year or the last half of the year (TERFs need not respond to this please and thank you).
A journal, I never really leave the house without a journal, so I’d definitely need on on the train and for the upcoming school year. I write thoughts, poems, story ideas down all the time.
A good coffee supply (or travel mug) is always essential but especially during those first few days, week or so, when the students are back and needing to chug down coffee quickly to be on time to the meetings and such.
Due to the continual pandemic (wear a damn mask and get vaccinated!), I definitely stocked up on some hand sanitizer. I love working with students, but I don’t trust them to not be vessels of germs.
A good planner! This can be whatever works for you. There are many different ones out there now and find the best system for you. (This is not sponsored AT ALL but I love Plum Paper planners for the fact that there planners are completely customizable).
Books! I mean a train ride gives me enough time to read a book plus I definitely will need some throughout the year.

I have yet to be able to read or watch Harry Potter since the author’s unfortunate blog post in summer 2020. Maybe one day, I’ll be able to. I’ve heard about buying used to not give her more money, but this goes beyond that. I’m trying not to let her take away the childhood that gave me so much escape and love and it’s been difficult to not let that happen. Anyway, ramblings are over!
I think the excitement of Hogwarts would keep me too occupied to do much reading or journaling! 🙂
