Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly topic hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week she provide a topic and you are free to use that topic and/or variations of that topic to make your top ten list. A full list of the weekly themes can be found here.
Today’s topic is authors that I want to read but haven’t yet. Because you know, life gets in the way of my reading time.
Kacen Callender: I’m still annoyed at myself that I haven’t read Felix Ever After yet, but hopefully, I’ll read it soon.
Jack Halberstam: A queer philosopher whose writings sound fascinating and a friend recommended them to me.
Bonnie J. Morris: A professor of Women’s Studies. She wrote the book The Disappearing L: Erasure of Lesbian Spaces and Culture that I’m really interested in reading as it explores the rise and fall of the hugely popular women-only concerts, festivals, bookstores, and support spaces built by and for lesbians.
Samantha Shannon: Because I still haven’t read The Priory of the Orange Tree.
Joshua Whitehead: I’m really wanting to expand my author base to include non-white authors, in particular, Indigenous or First Nation authors from America.
Olivia Waite: Historical fiction lesbian romance author? Yes, please!!
N.K. Jemisin: Her books sound absolutely amazing! Plus, this also expands my author base to include more Black Women authors.
Casey McQuiston: I mean One Last Stop and Red, White, & Royal Blue have been on my TBR for months now, so.
Torrey Peters: I’ve heard about Detransition, Baby and I’m interested to see what the story is about and how it all comes together.
Rafia Zakaria: I heard about her book, Against White Feminism, from a class I audited last fall, and it sounds like a great exploration of the problems with white feminists and upper-middle-class white women.
Happy Reading Darlings!
N.K. Jemisin has been a very popular pick this week!

I have seen Samantha Shannon on a lot of lists and I agree! I actually preordered Priory and haven’t read it! I even have a signed poster!
That’s fascinating! I wonder if it’s just the size of the book and knowing you have to prepare yourself. At least, that’s the case for me!
That is definitely it for me! I get intimidate by big books!
I’ve only heard of a couple of these authors. I hope you enjoy them all when you do finally read them.
Thank you! And don’t feel too bad about that, some of the others I chose are grad level English theorists 😁
Samantha Shannon is a great author. I hope you love all of these authors when you get to them.
