Friday Fives | Summer Reading

I started Friday Fives back when I started up the blog again and wanted to make sure I kept at least one regular post a week. This was, of course, before I knew there were others out there. But I decided to keep it, especially since I have the whole year planned out. In December, I decided to change it to Friday Fives instead to have more room for topics.

It’s summer time!! For some, this is a time for playing outdoors, vacations, or going to the beaches. Unless you live in Texas and need to do something that doesn’t put you in the over 100 degree weather, then you turn to reading. Here are some fun summer books that don’t require you to think (unless, you’re me and you can’t turn your brain off).

This is such a fun and cute queer romance! You’ll not regret reading this and feeling all the feels about Alex and Henry (and of course, David). I love, love, love this book!

Another cute, queer romance, this one featuring an asexual character!! This is your typical sunshine and grump romance, which I’m all for. It was cute and charming and I completely fell in love with Joy and Fox!

If you like Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, and if you listen to true crime podcasts, then this is right up your alley. This is Elizabeth and Darcy with a murder thrown in, and it was fun and romantic. Definitely a book that you could read on a beach!

I mean a grand tour around Europe with your best friend and secret crush that turns into a harrowing manhunt just screams summer reading! It’s cute, flirty, and fun, and I cannot get enough of Monty and Percy.

Ooo, looky here, a book that actually takes place during the summer! And yes, it’s another queer romance with country music and a country singer legend based on Dolly Parton. What’s not to love?

Happy Reading Darlings!
