I started Friday Fives back when I started up the blog again and wanted to make sure I kept at least one regular post a week. This was, of course, before I knew there were others out there. But I decided to keep it, especially since I have the whole year planned out. In December, I decided to change it to Friday Fives instead to have more room for topics.

Summer might be ending, but that doesn’t mean we can’t escape to the beach through reading.

It’s a small town summer read that is cute with an enemies to lovers romance, sisterly love, and just all around adorable.

Summer in LA can’t be beat, at least not in this book. Throw in a mystery, a silver screen legend, and a two girls who are drawn to each other, you’re bound to feel all the feelings romance and summer.

I know everyone mentions this book in so many lists or booktoks, but it really is worth the hype! Rule following Linus goes to an orphanage where 6 magical youth live that are deemed dangerous. One of them just happens to be the Antichrist. Then there’s charming and enigmatic Arthur who Linus draws closer to as he stays at the orphanage. It’s just absolutely delightful!

Spending summer in a small town Tennessee while working at a theme park based on a country legend, you can’t get more beach read then that.

Malibu. August 1983. Nina Riva, the eldest Riva sibling, is throwing her annual end-of-summer party. By midnight the party will be completely out of control. By morning, the Riva mansion will have gone up in flames. But before that first spark the alcohol will flow and so will some secrets.

Happy Reading Darlings!
