I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted, but there was some health issues my grandma went through that needed my full attention. She’s now feeling well enough that I’m able to get back to a schedule. As in previous years, I’m hoping to post more regularly this year.
Last year, I not only was in quite a few book clubs, but I also signed up for Kindle Unlimited. Many of the books I read from new to me authors were either ones I just missed or indie authors.
- Erin A. Craig-House of Salt and Sorrows
- T. Kingfisher-What Moves the Dead
- Mona Awad-Bunny
- Emma Mills-Something Close to Magic
- Alison Goodman-The Benevolent Society of Ill-Mannered Ladies
- Em X. Liu-The Death I Gave Him
- R.M. Virtues-Drag Me Up and Keep Me Close
- Kimberly Lemming-That Time I Got Drunk and Saved a Demon
- Sara A. Mueller-The Bone Orchard
- Ana Huang-King of Wrath and King of Pride

KU can be a great bargain provided you remember to focus on those books. I think 15% of my reading last year came from that. My list is here.
This year I’m trying to utilize KU better. I really want to focus on indie authors who aren’t a focus with trad publishing (ie Black authors, queer, Indigenous, etc.).
I love T. Kingfisher, I’ve read a lot of her books. I haven’t read any of these but I’m interested in the one by Allison Goodman.
I’ve already added Kingfisher’s other novels to my TBR. I absolutely loved Goodman’s book, it’s a great mystery and hilarious!
I’ve heard of a couple of these authors but haven’t read any of them. But I love discovering new authors so I may need to check out some of these.
They’re all ones I highly recommend 😊
I’m so happy you discovered T. Kingfisher last year! She’s one of my favorite authors and I hope you enjoy all her other books. I’ve also heard some interesting things about Bunny by Mona Awad, I’m a little afraid to try it!

I’m definitely adding all of Kingfisher’s books to my TBR!!
Bunny is…interesting and weird! I’m still not entirely sure what I read or what it was about.
I’ve been curious for quite a while about House of Salt and Sorrows! I should give it a shot. Looks like a good list!
My TTT.
It was such an interesting retelling of the 12 dancing princesses! The sequel, House of Roots and Ruin, is also really great!
Erin A. Craig and T. Kingfisher are two authors i want to read everything , love their spooky fairytale style
That Erin A. Craig book is still on my TBR! Hopefully I’ll get to it this year. Thanks for stopping by my TTT earlier, and happy reading!
It’s so good! I hope you enjoy it
I’m glad you found some new authors to love in 2023! I haven’t heard of most of them.
Happy TTT (on a Wednesday)!
