Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly topic hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week she provides a topic, and you are free to use that topic and/or variations of that topic to make your top ten list. A full list of the weekly themes can be found here.
It has been a busy couple of weeks. Back in mid-July, I went to the Utah Shakespeare Festival and saw 7 plays!! I had such a fun time. I’ve been going there since I was 9, although due to adult responsibilities, finances, and COVID, it’s been 10 years since the last time I went. I saw Henry VIII, The Winter’s Tale, The Taming of the Shrew, Much Ado About Nothing, The 39 Steps, Silent Sky, and The Mountaintop. I’ve now seen all of Shakespeare’s comedies and surprisingly, had a delight in watching Henry VIII! As usual, every play was amazing though!!
After getting back home from the festival, I had a few days before moving to STL (I had made plans to go to the Festival before getting the job offer). The move wasn’t helped by the fact that my car was at the mechanic for two months and my parents drove it up three weeks after I initially moved here. Still getting things set up in my new home and getting settled in general in a new city, but I’m loving it so far!
Anyways, without further ado, this week’s Top Ten Tuesday’s topic is a relationship freebie, as it relates to me. I chose to go with characters I’d like to have as siblings.
Circe from Circe by Madeline Miller
Psyche from Electric Idol by Katee Robert
Jonathan Darcy from the Mr. Darcy & Miss Tilney Series by Claudia Gray
Nikolai Lantsov from the Grishverse books by Leigh Bardugo
Gus & Julia from The Benevolent Society of Ill-Mannered Ladies by Alison Goodman
Kaz Brekker from the Six of Crows duology by Leigh Bardugo
Kyoshi from Chronicles of the Avatar by F.C. Yee

I’m glad you’re getting all settled in and enjoying your new city so far. I hope things continue to go well for you.
I’m not familiar with any of these characters, but I’m sure they would make great siblings!
Happy TTT!

Thank you!!
Circe is an interesting choice, but I imagine she’s different in that book!
Cool news on the plays. Is 39 Steps that spy-thriller? I saw an old B&W movie with that title ages ago.
Yes, Miller does a really amazing retelling with Circe’s story that I just love!!
Yes, it is! It’s based off the Hitchcock movie, which is loosely based off the 1915 novel by John Buchan. The play is hilarious (unlike the Hitchcock film) because two characters play around 100 roles. Highly amusing and fun play to see!!
Thanks! Will keep my eyes open for it. My state capital has a Shakespeare Festival theater, which has a fairly good variety.
I’m glad your move went well.
Thank you!
Kaz and Nikolai would be so cool to have a siblings. Here is my post https://paigesofnovels.com/2024/08/20/top-ten-tuesday-11-favorite-books-with-romance-ive-read-this-year/
Right!?! I’m also just thinking of this now, but Kaz and Nikolai as siblings would be hilarious! I’d be on the floor from laughing so much
Circe is a good pick.
Here is our Top Ten Tuesday.
Thank you!
It’s good to see Nikolai and Kaz on your list!
That Shakespeare festival sounds like so much fun, glad you had fun and congrats on your new job/move! Good luck with getting settled and everything 🙂 Anyways I love Circe as well and she would make a really cool older sister!
Thank you!! I highly recommend Utah Shakespeare Festival, they have wonderful people working there that make the festival enjoyable for all!
And yes Circe would be such a great older sis. Thinking about it she actually reminds me of my older sister, which is probably why I love her so much!
Good to know, well if I ever go to Utah I will keep that in mind 🙂 Aw that’s so sweet I love that she reminds you of your own sister. 🥰
