Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly topic hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week she provides a topic, and you are free to use that topic and/or variations of that topic to make your top ten list. A full list of the weekly themes can be found here. For the most part, books are usually an escape for me, but my brain (thanks to years of literature classes) has a difficult time turning off. But here are some books that provide an escape for me.

I’m always up for a retelling and ugh, this Pride and Prejudice retelling with Elizabeth being a trans man named Oliver was absolute perfection!! I don’t even care about the inaccuracies, it was plain fun and so beautiful.

I need everyone to read this, so I can finally talk about this with people!! It was amazing. Such amazing world-building, the characters were so fascinating, plus a lesbian love story with enemies to lovers had me there immediately!

A queer Victorian romance where two debutantes distract themselves from finding husbands my parenting trapping their parents. It’s adorable and funny and emotional, and I love every bit of it!

I was totally pulled in by this fae-world with a mysterious library. All the characters were so fleshed out, and I was completely surprised by the ending! I cannot wait for the next book!!

Really any of the books in this trilogy would fall into this list! They’re all so great in the world-building, the mystery, and the romance. It’s all so great and well thought out, I literally am obsessed with this trilogy!

This is just an adorable, fun, lighthearted cozy fantasy book. There’s such great characters and an adventure with a prince. It’s all just wonderful!
