My first TTT of 2025! The New Year ended up being busier than I expected and kept losing track of posting these. Of course, my bookish goals have changed since growing up and even in the past year. Growing up, I really only cared about how many books I read. It wasn’t until really getting into the Bookstagram and BookTok community that I saw book goals related to what types of books or pages or book challenges that people read throughout the year. So, here are my book goals for 2025:
- 100ish books per year: Okay, so last year I didn’t add a reading goal on Goodreads or Storygraph until halfway through the year. When I did, I was ahead by ten books, I think. The rest of the year, I never was behind and typically was head of my reading by double-digits. I still plan to read around 100 books a year, but I obviously don’t need the boost from reading trackers. I will probably set a “reading goal” on Goodreads and Storygraph in the last few days of the year (just for the wrap-up and the graphics).
- More poetry: I feel like I say this each year but continue to read more poetry.
- Read the books I own: Partly to read more from my TBR and partly to not spend as much money on books.
- Utilize my reading resources: What I mean by this is to not automatically go out and buy books. I want to use my library, Kindle unlimited, Libby, and Hoopla resources. With libraries, interlibrary loans exist too, so I can typically get most books to me.
- Set aside time to write: It’s been a complicated and busy few years with masters degrees and trying to get out of my small, conservative town. Now that I am in a better place, I really want to set aside writing time each week or have a goal to write x amount of words per week.
- Patronize more coffee shops: Living in a bigger city, there’s more coffee shops around me. I’d like to patronize more of those, a way to get out of the house to read or write.
- Finish series: There’s many series that I’ve started and had plans on finishing but haven’t. Usually, it’s due to the fact that I read the first in the series before the rest was out.

I love the idea of reading more poetry. Last year I read one book of poetry, and most years I don’t read any. I’ll definitely be trying to read more books I already own. Good luck with your reading goals in 2025!
I have SOOOO many series I need to finish or even just make progress on. Hopefully, I can do that this year as well. Good luck on all your goals!
Happy TTT (on a Wednesday)!

Right!?! I’ve actually started only reading series when all of the books are out because it’s usually waiting for the publication of the next books that throws me.
Good luck on your goals for the year, too!
I can easily add these to my goals (though I do try to read a lot of poetry, so maybe should switch that to something else I need to read more of)…
Making my TTT rounds on Friday so happy weekend!!
