TTT | Books with Honorifics in the Title

Late on Friday, March 14, \an executive order was issued in an attempt to dismantle the only federal agency dedicated to funding library services, the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS). Millions of people rely every day on library services and programs supported by IMLS. Right now, we need to help to urge the Congressional Appropriations Committees, which write government spending bills, to support library funding. You’ll have to check if your senators are on the Appropriations Committee here, and you can check if your House Representative is on that Appropriations Committee here. If your senator or representative is on the Appropriations Committee, then I highly encourage you to call and write to them urging them to include federal library funding in next year’s budget. If you’re senator or representative is NOT a member on the Appropriations Committee, there is still ways to show up to help support federal funding for libraries that you can find here. I know the world is a mess right now and this may seem low on the agenda to focus on, but the lack of access to information and knowledge is one of the first things done on the way to an authoritarian regime.

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly topic hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week she provides a topic, and you are free to use that topic and/or variations of that topic to make your top ten list.

This week’s topic is books with honorifics in the title, which is “…a form of address conveying esteem, courtesy or respect. These can be titles prefixing a person’s name, e.g.: Mr., Mrs., Miss, Ms., Mx., Sir, Dame, Dr., Cllr, Lady, or Lord, or other titles or positions that can appear as a form of address without the person’s name, as in Mr. President, General, Captain, Father, Doctor, or Earl.

Historical fiction, sapphic love story, and astronomy. It’s on my TBR, but as usual, other books keep getting in my way.

Yes, I have too! This may have to move up on my TBR, but there’s so many books out there 😅

It’s definitely a fun read, and yes, I’d also be a suspect on that list!

I feel that! I’ve seen so many books this week that look fascinating but my TBR is already a mountain 😂

  1. A Lady For a Duke has been on my list to read, but The League of Gentlewomen Witches and The Murder of Mr. Wickham sound like they could be interesting reads as well. There are a few other titles that sound interesting as well. I really like your list!

Haven’t read A Lady for a Duke but I have heard wonderful things about it! The Murder of Mr. Wickham is such a fun novel, and the series with Juliet and Jonathan gets better in each book. The League of Gentlewomen Witches is probably my favorite India Holton book (closely tied with The Geographer’s to Romance)!
